
The multi-disciplinary operations involving several departments conducted in Knysna yielded positive results with the arrest of 26 undocumented persons and three of their employers during a two-day operation which commenced on Wednesday, 04 June until last night 05 June 2025, aimed at compliance at construction sites and the hospitality industry.
Departments involved consist of the South African Police Service, Department of Employment and Labour, Department of Home Affairs’ Immigration Services, Garden Route Municipality and Knysna Municipal Law Enforcement.
In an unrelated matter, Kwanonqaba police arrested two suspects aged 35 and 46 on a charge of possession of stolen property.
On Wednesday, 04 June 2025 at about 09:00, Kwanonqaba Crime Prevention unit members responded to information about a grey Corsa LDV in Mossel Bay, allegedly involved in a burglary. The members spotted the vehicle in Adriaans Avenue at Asla Park where they pulled it over. A search of the vehicle ensued upon which the members found a generator at the back of the LDV. Both occupants were arrested on a charge of possession of stolen property.
All arrested suspects will appear in court once charged.
