On Saturday, Mi7’s Armed Response teams were activated following reports of a broken-down truck being looted by community members in the Boboyi area near Port Shepstone. The truck was transporting corrugated roofing sheets at the time of the incident.
Mi7 Armed Response teams responded swiftly and arrived on scene to find local Community Policing Forum (CPF) members attempting to deter the looters. Mi7 teams assisted in recovering portions of the stolen goods and securing the area.
It was determined that looters had also cut the connecting pipes between the horse and trailer, preventing its immediate removal. Mechanics were dispatched to carry out necessary repairs.
Control of the scene and further investigation were formally handed over to SAPS upon their arrival.

Update:
Mi7 National Group would like to correct information previously posted regarding an incident regarding the looting of a truck in the Boboyi area.
The original post claimed the truck had broken down, before it was looted. It has since been brought to our attention, by the owner, that the truck was accosted by criminal elements who climbed aboard and severed the suzi pipes – bringing the vehicle to a halt.
The contents the vehicle was carrying were then stolen. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the sharing of the initial information.
