Masslift Africa has donated R160,000 to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, along with toiletries, toys, and other necessities, in support of the hospital’s ongoing efforts to provide specialist care to children. The funds were raised during Masslift’s annual golf day on 22 August 2024, where each year golfers forgo their sponsored golf shirts in favour of supporting the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, with Masslift matching these contributions to make up the total donation.
On 19 September 2024, the Masslift team personally delivered the cheque and essential items to the hospital. The toys, which will be wrapped and distributed as gifts to the children during the festive season, were carefully selected and purchased by the Masslift staff, reflecting their personal investment in the donation.
Masslift Africa, CFO, Thembi Mazibuko shared the sentiment behind the initiative: “At Masslift, we believe in uplifting people. We’re not just in the forklift business; we’re in the people business. This donation is more than a corporate gesture – it’s personal for every one of our staff members who carefully chose and purchased these items. Supporting the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital gives us a chance to make a meaningful difference, and we’re proud to be part of their incredible work.”
Dr. Nkuli Boikhutso, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, expressed appreciation for the donation: “We are grateful to Masslift Africa for their generosity and care. Every child deserves moments of joy, especially during challenging times. These donations will help us provide that, and we’re thankful for the continued support.”
Masslift’s relationship with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital continues to grow, with the company committed to finding further ways to contribute to the hospital’s mission of providing world-class pediatric healthcare.
