Just before 4pm today ALS Paramedics responded to multiple calls of a serious truck accident on the corner of North Coast Road and Victor Road in Durban North.
On arrival Paramedics found carnage as they found that a heavy container load on the rear of a truck had unhinged and crushed the driver in the cab.
The driver and only occupant in the vehicle a male believed to be in his forties had sustained major injuries and unfortunately was declared deceased on scene by Paramedics.
The Ethekweni Fire Department was called to assist in extricating the driver.
At this stage the events leading up to the incident is unknown however SAPS and Metro Police were in attendance and will be investigating further.
