On Monday 07 April 2025 at 09:30, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison (CLU) Unit Officers, in conjuction with other law enforcement agencies apprehended a male suspect for hijacking in the Johannesburg area.
Following on information received i from a well-known vehicle tracking company about a hijacked white Hino 10-ton truck in the Tsakane area. Officers acted swiftly on the information by initiating a lookout with the assistance of the tracking device that last updated the truck to be moving on Swartkoppies Road.
Officers managed to stop the vehicle on R82 direction South with one male(1) occupant inside the vehicle . The suspect was arrested and he was detained free from injuries. The suspect facing charges of Hijacking is expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court
soon.
