Members of Garankuwa SAPS, Gauteng Highway Patrol, Gauteng Traffic Wardens (STT NC), Tshenolo P.I., Rentrak, and LCRC Garankuwa acted on intelligence regarding a truck scheduled for delivery to Haartebees, originally hauling poultry and assorted meats.
The truck had been hijacked by a group of Bravo males driving vehicles resembling security service vehicles in the Mooinooi area of the North West. After being hijacked, the truck was driven into Gauteng and eventually found stationary at a warehouse in Ga-Rankuwa Industrial Zone 15.
Upon arrival at the warehouse, law enforcement discovered the truck parked in a panel beating and body shop facility. Inside the premises, they found four Bravo males, along with some of the stolen poultry and meats already loaded into customer vehicles, which had been used in the criminal operation. These vehicles, initially brought in for repairs, had been repurposed for illegal activities.
The four suspects were arrested for possession of the hijacked truck and stolen stock. The truck, along with the vehicles involved in off-loading the hijacked stock, valued at R1.2 million, was confiscated and taken to Ga-Rankuwa SAPS.
