On Monday 02 June 2025 at 17:30, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) North Task Team Officers, recovered a reported hi-jacked vehicle in the Bronkhorstspruit area.
Following on information received from a tracking company about a white Axor 3540 Mercedez 8 Ton Truck that was hi-jacked between R24 and Isando road. Offiers used the GPS coordinates that were given to them by the tracking company, that led them to R50 towards Bronkhorstspruit, where the truck was found abandoned on the side of the road.
On close inspection of the truck, Officers noticed it was still idling and stock to the value of over one million rand was missing. Information received is that the driver is still missing.
The vehicle was taken to Vereeniging Police Pound for further investigation
