On Wednesday 25 December 2024 at about 09:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct officers recovered a reported hijacked trailer, including a container in the Petit area.
While performing their duties, they spotted a suspicious trailer on the side of Pretoria Road. The officers went to investigate and discovered that the trailer, carrying a container, had been hijacked at Durban Harbour.
The trailer did not have a registration number or license disc. We contacted the owner, who confirmed that the goods (aluminium) were estimated at R600 000.
All the necessary stakeholders were called in, while the aluminium trailer was towed for safekeeping.
