VRMED responded to reports of a head-on collision between a truck and a bus on the N8 next to the Botshabelo entrance on Thursday morning.
On arrival crews from VRMED and various other emergency services found multiple patients with injuries ranging from moderate to critical.
Some of the patients were trapped inside the bus and had to be extricated by FSEMS and Mangaung Fire and Rescue.
The patients were transported to various hospitals in Bloemfontein, Botshabelo, and Thaba Nchu. Sadly some of the occupants sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on the scene.
The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by SAPS.
