There was a major accident that poses danger for traffic on the Otjiwarongo Otavi road. One of the trucks carried Sianied as a cargo, which was poured during the accident, making an area of 500m from the accident dangerous.
Chemical dumping experts are on the scene to secure it, but it will take a long time. All travellers are advised to travel from Otavi to Outjo, back to Otjiwarong,o and those coming from Otjiwarongo to take the same route via Outjo to Otavi for safety reasons.
