A delivery truck transporting refrigerators was hijacked by armed suspects in Adams Mission, Ethekwini – KZN, on Tuesday, 2 December 2025.
The vehicle had been loaded at a warehouse in Durban North – KZN at approximately 17:00 on the day of the incident. The driver and his assistant were en route to a residence in Adams Mission – KZN, where the appliances were scheduled to be off-loaded for delivery to the South Coast – KZN the following day.
As the truck approached the driver’s home, only a few metres from its intended off-loading point, a group of armed men confronted the occupants. The suspects forced the driver and assistant out of the vehicle before fleeing with the truck, which was last seen heading in the direction of Foleni – KZN.
The stolen cargo consisted of various refrigerator models, including Hisense and Defy units, such as side-by-side, standard fridges & chest freezers (pictured). The truck was later recovered, however the load of fridges was missing.
