The determination by the Western Cape police to decrease crime in our communities and to put the perpetrators of the law behind bars yielded positive results when they arrested four suspects on charges of robbery and possession of presumed stolen property.
On Tuesday 25 June 2024, members of Maitland Flying Squad followed up on information received about a suspicious vehicle that is wanted in a case of an armed robbery that took place in Grassy Park. The members responded to the identified address where they found the vehicle with one suspect. Upon searching the vehicle they found a Television and a fridge. The suspect could not give a valid reason where he got the items from.
Upon further investigation they found another vehicle which was implicated in a Takealot robbery that took place in Kuilsrivier. The members recovered the stock in the vehicle. Members also found the place where some of the other items were also stored. Members arrested three suspects aged between 20 and 35 who were on the property. The members confiscated the stolen property and the vehicles as exhibits.
