Fatal crash reported on the B2 route involving a truck and a pick-up. The crash happened approximately 32 kms outside Swakopmund towards Arandis late Friday night.
A pick-up with one occupant travelling towards the coast apparently crashed head-on with a truck (also with one occupant), with both the truck and pick-up bursting into flames after impact.
Two fatalities were reported in the crash and the following inferno. Both wrecks were lying across the road, blocking the B2 route for a significant amount of time.
The Swakopmund Fire and Rescue Services were dispatched to the scene and extinguished the fire. Nampol Traffic ensured the flow of traffic throughout the night till late Saturday morning until both wrecks and debris were removed from the road surface.
