Members of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department Overloads Unit Officers recovered an abandoned motor vehicle in the Wattville area.
Officers while doing crime prevention and strategic patrol in the Wattville area, spotted a suspicious white Volkswagen Amarok double cab bakkie parked at corner Tame and Maseko Street Infront of the OR Tambo Cultural Precinct. Officers proceeded to investigate and upon checking on the e-Natis system results came back positive as the vehicle was sought a Boksburg CAS number.
Investigations on the scene also revealed that the vehicle VIN Number was not corresponding during the inquiry and the vehicle was fitted with false registration plates. All role players were summoned for further investigation, while the VW Amarok was transported to the Aerton police pound.
The EMPD commends Officers for the sterling work as another reported missing vehicle is recovered.
