The Eastern Cape government welcomed the launch of the “Cookhouse – Blaney Branch Line” a railway line connecting the province’s two metros renowned for their thriving automotive sector.
Premier, Hon. Oscar Mabuyane and the MEC’s in the economic cluster were all in attendance for this groundbreaking launch, and initiative set to propel the EC’s economy to new levels of prosperity.
The launch marked another tangible step towards our ambition to migrate freight from Road to Rail, and thus getting fewer trucks on our roads and reducing national and provincial road maintenance costs.
