Duma and RTI are cracking down on unroadworthy trucks

“We are now intensifying #NenzaniLaEzweni Operation and cracking down on unroadworthy and overloaded trucks,” the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma stated.

Below are the results of an operation conducted by the RTI Park Ryne Team:-

  • 22 trucks stopped and inspected for driver fitness and roadworthiness.
  • 12 written notices issued for various defects, including worn tyres, oil leaks, and other mechanical faults.
  • 2 vehicles found to be unlicensed.
  • 2 Vehicles suspended and removed from the road due to serious defects.
