The South African National Defence Force and 4 Artillery Regiment, deployed in Limpopo Province under Operation CORONA, continue to guard the borders of the Republic of South Africa were millions worth of illicit cigarettes, goods and vehicles were confiscated.
In the Mabiligwe Area near Kruger National Park, Lieutenant Moreti and his men confiscated illicit fuel and groceries valued at R72 880.00. His counterparts at Pontdrift Operational Base confiscated a Jeep vehicle valued at R100 000.00 together with its luggage, which was found to be illicit cigarettes valued at R213 851.00, and arrested the driver. At Groblersbridge Point of Entry which is at South Africa/Botswana border Lieutenant K.H. Mulamavu and men confiscated a massive R3, 800, 000.00 of illicit tobacco as well as the truck valued at R1, 800, 000.00 for transporting the tobacco.
