On Thursday afternoon Emer-G-Med Paramedics responded to the scene of a collision involving a heavy duty vehicle on the R533 near Pilgrims Rest.
On arrival on scene a heavy articulated vehicle was found to have left the roadway down a steep embankment.
With the assistance of multiple members of the public, the man was carried to the roadside where he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
