A bus driver shot during a robbery on Buffelsdraai Road in Buffelsdraai – KZN has died in hospital a short while ago (Monday).
Four (4) suspects posing as passengers produced firearms and shot the driver while the MAN Diesel bus was in motion. The vehicle veered off its path of travel and came to a stop in overgrown vegetation on the side of the road. The driver was shot in the arm and abdomen.
The suspects stole cash and robbed approximately twenty (20) passengers of their valuables before they fled on foot. The critically injured driver was expedited to a medical facility by a passerby who stopped to assist. He died from his injuries shortly after arrival.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) conducted an extensive search for the murders, but they still remain at large.
