A three (3) vehicle collision was reported on a gravel road in Canelands, KwaZulu-Natal this afternoon (Thursday).

A Toyota double-cab bakkie, a Tata truck, and a Suzuki Brezza were involved in the incident. Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene and were informed by the driver of the Suzuki Brezza that she was travelling towards Hazelmere – KZN when a blue Toyota double-cab bakkie towing a Tata truck with a chain approached from the opposite direction. While in motion, the towing chain detached, causing the Tata truck to veer into oncoming traffic.

The rear section of the Tata truck collided with the Suzuki Brezza, resulting in damage to the windscreen, front right fender, front headlight, driver-side door, and bonnet.

It is further alleged that after the chain disengaged, the Tata truck lost control, after which the Toyota bakkie overturned.

No injuries were reported.
