A man, believed to be in his 30s, was hospitalised this afternoon after he suffered an apparent cardiac condition whilst driving his truck on West Burger Road in Bloemfontein CBD.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the tipper-truck on the side of the road against three light motor vehicles.
The driver of the truck was found lying in the front seat of his vehicle.
Paramedics quickly extricated the man and assessed him, finding that he showed no signs of life.
CPR and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated, in an effort to revive the patient. Fortunately, after some time, the patient’s vital signs returned.
Once stabilised, the man was transported to Mediclinic Bloemfontein for urgent treatment.
It is believed that the man had suffered an unknown cardiac event before his tipper-truck rolled into three parked light motor vehicles.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
