A detectives tracing and Anti-Gang Unit operation aimed at addressing crimes conducted at the N1 truck stop yielded positive results.
Due to the number of cases opened and attacks of truck drivers at the truck stop near the N1 at Ventersburg the Anti-Gang Unit joined in a Detective tracing operation aimed at addressing crimes such as assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, theft out of motor vehicle and possession of dangerous weapons.
The 12-hour initiative was conducted on 09 March 2024 between 09:00 to 21:00 and it yielded results as five suspects, aged between 26 and 31, were arrested: Three for possession of dangerous weapon, one for theft out of motor vehicle and assault GBH.
The operations continue and all five suspects will appear in the Ventersburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
