Serious Crash: Saturday 13 January 2024 at approximately 03:20 on the R71 at the bottom of Magoebaskloof direction Tzaneen Limpopo.
The crash involved two (2) Passenger buses. Currently, it is indicated that there are 2 x passengers with serious injuries (P1), 29 x passengers with slight to moderate injuries (P2), 18 x passengers with none to slight injuries (P3), and 5 x passengers that sustained fatal injuries (P4). It is alleged that three (3) busses were travelling in a convoy from Botlokwa toward Mpumalanga on the R71 when one of the busses collided from the back into this bus, the bus driver lost control and crashed through the barriers and down the mountain approximately 20 meters.
The precise cause of the crash is subject to an ongoing investigation. Updated information will be provided as and when it is received.
