Members of Bambatha Rifles were busy with joint operations with the South African Police Service around Campo Airport, West of Musina Town, when they came across pedestrians who dropped their luggage and fled the scene when they saw the security forces.
These actions made the law enforcement members suspicious and members investigated the luggage. Inside the luggage were illicit Remington Gold cigarettes worth R 1,801,041.00 according to the South African Revenue Services/Customs. The South African Police Service members took over for further processing.
