The Chemical and Allied Industries’ Association (CAIA) exhibited and participated at the Third African Chemicals Imbizo at the Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban this week.
CAIA Executive Director Deidré Penfold congratulated the Durban Chemical Cluster on co-hosting the imbizo and on arranging an informative programme.
Penfold said imbizo’s like this will further increase growth and investment in the local chemical sector by providing a platform for local chemical manufacturers to engage with new buyers and grow their intra-African export market share.
The imbizo was held on 15 and 16 August and attracted 300 delegates from across the sub-Sahara region, while also bringing together industry experts, guest speakers and an exhibition presenting innovative products and key services to the industry.
The imbizo was co-hosted by the eThekwini Municipality in partnership with Trade and Investment Kwazulu-Natal, the Industrial Development Corporation, the Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority and the Durban Chemicals Cluster.
