Members of KZNVIP Responded to the cash-in-transit heist as motorists who were witnessing everything reported it requesting immediate assistance.
Multiple emergency services were dispatched to the scene but were unsuccessful in apprehending the suspects.
Suspects came in two vehicles, a SUV and a light motor vehicle, approximately ten suspects armed with high caliber weapons .
Suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash thankfully the security officers escaped unharmed.
Surrounding community then rushed to the scene to try and salvage whatever they could as security teams arrived.
SAPS investigations are underway.
