Just before 05:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit team received a call for a serious motor vehicle accident on the corners of Simon Vermoten and Pretoria roads.
One patient believed to be in her 30s was entrapped inside the vehicle and had to be extradited using the Jaws of life and other specialized rescue equipment. Unfortunately after advanced life support resuscitation attempts the patient was declared dead on scene.
Please expect heavy delays in the area.
