MEC Thulasizwe Thomo joined the Minister of Transport,Ms. Barbara Creecy, for the official launch of the National Truck Stop Framework (NTSF) at the N17 Truck Stop.
The NTSF outlines a roadmap for the planning, classification, investment, development and standardisation of truck stops across South Africa.
The launch at the N17 Truck Stop was particularly fitting, as the facility demonstrates the importance of creating a safe, secure and comfortable “home away from home” experience for truck drivers who spend long hours on our roads.
“We commend this important initiative, which contributes to improving road freight infrastructure, supporting the wellbeing of truck drivers and creating more sustainable and organised truck-stop facilities across the country” said MEC Thomo.
