In the middle of the night, while the rest of the country is sleeping. The General De La Rey Regiment is ensuring that international cross-border crimes at the Republic of South Africa and eSwatini border are prevented and denied at all times.

General De La Rey Regiment is deployed at the Joint Tactical Headquarters KwaZulu-Natal area of responsibility to prevent cross-border crimes under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Moyo, who took over the command on the 19th June 2026. Just in a few days in a mission area, platoon 1 under the command of Second Lieutenant I. Moabi, one of the young female commanders with high standards of Bravo Section around Nthuthuko Village in Pongola.

During this intensive patrol, the Bravo Section observed a white Hyundai Bakkie, which appeared to be traveling at a high speed. Lance Corporal Machete, the section leader and his team tried to stop the vehicle as it approached the standing, stop, and search patrol. The vehicle driver increased the speed, trying to overrun the South African National Defence Force members.

Because Bravo Section is trained for such, they chased the vehicle, as they are a trained force. The necessary skills were applied to temporarily incapacitate the vehicle and prevent it from moving further. The driver got off and fled into the village. Upon searching, the vehicle bales of dagga were found to weigh 514kg, with an estimated value of R 2,950,000.00. At the same time, the vehicle was impounded at the value of R 450 000.00

All this is through the great efforts, training, skills, teamwork, and commitment, not excluding the leadership of Second Lieutenant I. Moabi, the platoon commander, and Lance Corporal Machete, including the Bravo Section members
