Just after 11 pm on Sunday evening, ALS Paramedics responded to a serious crash on the N3 Durban-bound before the Shongweni offramp.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find carnage as they found that a single vehicle had collided into a stationary Truck in the emergency lane. The driver and only occupant of the light motor vehicle was found entrapped in the wreckage and immediately the Ethekweni Fire Department were dispatched to assist. The man believed to be in his Fifties had sustained major injuries and unfortunately, there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. The scene was then handed over to SAPS.
At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.
