A truck driver was injured after a heavy motor vehicle accident on the R102 in Mt. Edgecombe – KZN yesterday (Tuesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched by the scene at approximately 20:49 after receiving reports of the crash. On arrival, it was established that a truck transporting sacks of cement had overturned while travelling northbound towards Phoenix – KZN. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing the superlink truck to overturn and come to rest on its side.
The driver sustained head injuries and was treated and transported to a medical facility by private Medical Responders.
