The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Overload Control Unit conducted road safety operations on highways across Tshwane on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. The operations aimed to ensure compliance with load regulations and protect road infrastructure.

A total of 88 trucks were directed to TMPD weighbridges in Akasia and Centurion for load compliance inspections. Shockingly, 31 trucks were found to be overloaded and failed the compliance test. As a result, the truck operators were issued hefty penalties and ordered to rectify their loads before continuing their journeys.

These strict ongoing load compliance operations play a crucial role in maintaining order on the roads and preventing accidents caused by overloaded vehicles. The punishment of these operators must serve as a reminder to all road users to prioritize safety or face consequences.
