Pokwane: [19/01/2026]-Polokwane Traffic Control Centre (PTCC) officers intercepted a bus on the N1 highway en route to Gauteng, posing a significant risk to passengers and other road users.
The bus, traveling from Malawi, was found to have a copied license disk that didn’t match the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the manufacturer’s plate. Additionally, the operating license had expired on July 31, 2025.
Compounding the safety concerns, two wheels on the driving axle were missing, rendering the vehicle unroadworthy. The driver and operator will face further investigation and action.
