This afternoon, emergency services responded to a serious crash on the service road leading to Inanda Road from the M19, where a truck overturned after the driver reportedly lost control along a bend.
KZNVIP Ambulance and multiple emergency services were dispatched to the scene following a request for urgent assistance. On arrival, it was established that the truck had tipped over, injuring both the driver and passenger.
As the occupants attempted to exit the vehicle, they were approached and robbed by individuals posing as Good Samaritans. The suspects fled on foot toward the informal settlement near the Reservoir Hills offramp.
Both victims were assessed on scene by paramedics before being transported to a medical facility for further medical attention.
Due to rising tensions and attempted looting of the vehicle’s cargo, additional security teams were called in to secure the scene.
All emergency and security services remain on site, and motorists are advised that the roadway will remain temporarily closed during recovery operations.
