The removal of a whale carcass that washed up between Dias Beach and Hartenbos earlier today, 2 September 2025, is fully underway. The whale was found in an advanced stage of decomposition.
Members of the public are alerted that heavy machinery are on the beach during the removal and therefore, it is advised to avoid the area under the area until operations have been concluded.
