The Members of operation Vala Umgodi in Capricorn and Vhembe arrested one suspect for illegal mining and ten (10) illegal immigrants on Monday, 17 March 2025.
In Capricorn District the members conducted intelligence driven operation at the Senwabarwana policing area.
During the operation, the team approached the suspect at Indermark Village, following the illegal mining activities at the area. One suspect aged 75 was arrested for illegal mining. He did not have a valid mining permit.
Meanwhile, in Vhembe, the members arrested 10 suspects contravention of the Immigration Act at Beitbridge policing area, along N1 road next to Weighbridge.
The police investigations are continuing.
