Work to clear the illegal dump at the Chatsworth Garden Refuse Site has begun. The illegal dump stems from residents and businesses who have been illegally dumping domestic waste in a facility designated for garden refuse only.
Residents are allowed to dispose of one bakkie load of garden refuse per week at any of the City’s garden refuse sites. This is a free of charge service provided by the City to residents. Businesses with registered accounts can use the following garden sites for the disposal of garden refuse waste namely, Seadoone Garden Site, Bellair Garden Site, and the Mt Edgecombe Garden Site.
Residents are reminded that the following activities are not permitted: The disposal of solid waste at a garden site, utilising salvagers to assist with offloading and giving them items intended to be thrown away, disposing of any refuse after 5pm, and the illegal dumping of any type of waste outside the gate.
