Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to reports of a serious collision on the R21 in the vicinity of Nellmapius bridge.
On arrival on scene it was found that a light motor vehicle collided with a heavy motor vehicle. A female passenger of the light motor vehicle, believed to be in her twenties, sustained critical injuries and was stabilized by Emer-G-Med paramedics prior to being airlifted by an aeromedical helicopter to a specialist facility.
The driver of the light motor vehicle sustained minor injuries only.
