Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene of a head-on collision on Main Street in the Centurion area.
On arrival on scene two heavy-duty vehicles were found to have collided head on. The driver of one of the vehicles was found to be entrapped in the wreckage and the Jaws-of-life were used to cut him free whilst emergency care practitioners stabilized him.
Once stabilized he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
A passenger of one of the vehicles was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
