Last night, three people were killed and another left critically injured when a truck and a light motor vehicle collided on the Vryguns Road in Paarl, Western Cape.

ER24, Titanium Security and Metro EMS arrived at 19h00 to find the truck and wrecked light motor vehicle on the road, approximately 50 metres from the initial impact.

On closer inspection, medics found four men lying inside the car. Assessments showed that three men had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. The fourth man was found with multiple injuries and was in critical condition.

The man was extricated from the vehicle, treated, and provided advanced life support before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

The driver of the truck, fortunately, escaped injury.
