The Tshwane Metro Police Department members in region 7 Bronkhorstspruit were doing patrols at R25 road on 16 November 2022 when they came across a male person who alerted them that his truck had just been hijacked by four males driving two vehicles. The TMPD members pursued the suspects on the direction provided by the hijacked truck driver.

With the help of a tracking company, the officers pursued until they found the truck abandoned at R104 Road. The suspects were not found. The truck was recovered with all its belongings.

In a separate incident, TMPD drug unit members have arrested three drug dealers on Wednesday 16 November 2022. Two of the suspects were arrested in a joint operation with crime intelligence in Mamelodi.

The two suspects were traced while making drug deliveries, they were found with heroine (nyaope) with estimated street value of R12 500. The other suspect was arrested in Atteridgeville when he was found in possession of unlicensed firearm and dagga with an estimated street value of R10 000.

The other two arrests were done by the Tshwane Metro Police cable theft unit members. The members responded to a complaint about overhead cable theft in progress at Ben Swart Avenue, they followed up and managed to apprehend the suspect.

Another suspect was arrested in Pretoria West when he was caught busy stripping off stolen electricity wires. Both suspects were illegal immigrants, they were charged with damaging and tampering with essential infrastructure.
