Three people were seriously injured after they were crushed by an industrial printing machine weighing several tons on Bhoola Road in Trurolands – Tongaat a short while ago.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the warehouse after being informed of the incident. Upon arrival, several private ambulance services, as well as the Ethekwini Fire Department, were on scene.
It was established that the three men were in the process of offloading the machine from a truck with the use of a crane when the restraints snapped and it fell onto them. One person suffered an amputation to his right leg while the other men sustained pelvic and spinal injuries.
The three were stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical attention.
