On Friday, 13 October 2023 at approximately 09:00, vigilant police members from Deben SAPS, Kuruman LCRC and Kathu SAPS Crime Prevention unit attended to a house breaking complaint when they spotted a suspicious-looking vehicle and arrested one suspect.
The team managed to recover all the stolen goods. They spotted the Hyundai truck on the R380 road and followed it into Mapoteng village. Members of the Kumba Security Company also assisted and the vehicle was stopped and searched and some of the stolen goods were retrieved from the driver.
Further investigation led the police to a house in Deben where they found more of the alleged stolen goods. The stolen property was positively identified by the owner and handed over.
Three male suspects are still at large and police arrested a 25-year-old male and confiscated the Hyundai truck. A manhunt has been launched for the three other suspects.
