As part of the rollout of Rea Vaya Phase 1C, technical alignment tests are currently being conducted at stations along the Louis Botha Avenue corridor and at the Kathrine BRT Station.

Undertaken on behalf of the City’s Transport Department, these tests are essential to ensure that the new low-entry Rea Vaya buses align precisely with the low-floor station platforms, guaranteeing seamless and accessible boarding for all users.

🚧 Motorists are advised to drive with caution as station alignment tests are currently underway along the Louis Botha Corridor and at the Sandton BRT Station.

The Phase 1C trunk route will be linking the Johannesburg CBD with key nodes such as Orange Grove, Yeoville, and Alexandra.

Upon completion, Phase 1C will provide:
✔️ Enhanced public transport access across northern Johannesburg
✔️ Safe, affordable, and eco-friendly travel options
✔️ Improved transport connectivity to support economic activity and spatial transformation

These tests reflect the City’s commitment to delivering a technically sound and commuter-friendly BRT system.
