Members of SAPS Cleveland arrested seven suspects in the early hours of today 6 February following a business robbery in progress complaint in Heriotdale.
According to a preliminary report, the members responded to the business robbery complaint at a transport company in Heriotdale. Upon their arrival at the scene, three suspects fled and managed to evade arrest.
The suspects allegedly held a security guard at gunpoint while loading new and second-hand tyres onto trucks.
The members managed to apprehend seven suspects and recover presumed stolen property (tyres) with an estimated value of R700 000, 00.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
