Just before 7 am this morning ALS Paramedics responded to a horrific crash involving a Truck and a Bus on the M25 Kwa Mashu Highway before Kwa Mashu offramp.
Paramedics from ALS Paramedics and KZN VIP arrived on scene to find chaos and carnage. It is alleged that a truck travelling Durban Bound somehow lost control and veered across the centre median colliding into a bus.
Paramedics found multiple casualties and immediately more Ambulances as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics were dispatched to assist. A triage was done and a total of Thirty Five (35) people were found to have sustained various injuries.
Multiple Ambulances were used to stabilize the injured on scene before the patients were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
Unfortunately, the truck driver a male believed to be in his fifties, was found entrapped in the wreckage with major injuries. Unfortunately, there was nothingthe Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.
Traffic was severely affected in the area.
At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
