On Friday morning at around 05h30 Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision on the N2 North bound lane at the Sezela off ramp. Reports from the scene indicate that a truck with a load of logs was stationary on a painted island at the off ramp to Sezela when another truck slammed into the rear of the stationary truck.
Arriving at the scene medics found that the driver of the rear truck was still trapped in the twisted metal. Tragically, the man died on impact due to the extensive injuries that he sustained. The passenger was extricated and paramedics from Netcare and the Provincial ambulance services started to resuscitate the man. Tragically, he was declared dead at the scene despite the efforts from the paramedics.
