
A stock theft case was reported at SAPS Mahwelereng following the discovery of a vehicle fully loaded with cattle was observed driving around George Masebe and Bakenburg area ,Waterberg District on Saturday, 19 April 2025 at around 20:30.
A swift response by members of Modimolle Stock Theft Unit, led to the discovery of a white Nissan bakkie and a trailer both having Limpopo registration numbers plates, already offloading cattle.
Preliminary investigation suggested that the suspects were carrying approximately seven cattle (07) and offloaded them at Tinmyne policing area, and one cow according to information fell down and died on the road. The suspects realizing that the police were following them, fled the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle and trailer behind.
Members of the community after noticing what was happening came from the nearby villages wanted to destroy the suspects property (exhibit), but the police managed to intervene to restrain them as those items are part of evidence.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Major General Samuel Manala has issued a stern warning to the community members, against taking the law into their own hands by destroying the suspect’s property as that will be destroying crucial evidence.
