JOHANNESBURG – 6 March 2017 – Heavy Commercial Vehicle Underwriting Managers (HCV) has won a Diamond Arrow for excellence, presented by PMR.africa at the 2016 Business Excellence Awards.
This is the third consecutive year that HCV has received the top award in the category for Heavy Commercial Vehicles in a national survey of underwriting managers.
Out of a possible score of 5.0, HCV scored 4.2 which was the highest rating received in the category. A minimum score of 4.1 is required to receive a Diamond Arrow.
“We dedicate this achievement to our staff, all of whom deliver their utmost in terms of service, loyalty and outstanding quality of work. Their unwavering work ethic means we maintain excellent standards,” says Chris Barry, Managing Director of HCV.
A national sample of directors, senior managers and short-term underwriting managers selected from short-term brokers and insurance companies took part in the 2016 survey and nominated HCV for consideration in their category.
HCV was then rated on 11 attributes including adaptability, competence, innovation, reputation and industry know-how.
“HCV would not be nominated for awards like this one without the backing of our brokers,” says Barry.
“Brokers make a fundamental contribution to the industry by continuously providing impartial, measured advice to consumers.”
PMR.africa is a division of C.J. Hattingh & Sons, a South African consultancy and research company. Through their annual independent Business Excellence awards, PMR.africa acknowledges the initiative, strategy, effort, and hard work of local companies in several industry sectors.
HCV has now received a total of seven PMR.africa awards – four Diamond Arrows, one Gold Arrow and two Silver Arrows.
“We are proud of an award that recognises our company ethos, and reinforces that our ethical approach to insurance remains sustainable.” says Barry.
