On 20 August 2025, a large-scale intelligence-driven operation was conducted across the EThekwini Municipality, targeting Greenwood Park (Springfield China Mall) and Pinetown. The focus was on removing counterfeit, contraband, and non-compliant goods from circulation.

Key seizures included:

● Counterfeit clothing, shoes, caps, toys, PlayStations, and playing cards.

Total items seized: 1,328

Estimated value: R1,200,270,00

Non-compliant goods (not meeting NRCS standards), including:

● Meat products
● Electronic commodities
● Chemical disinfectants
● Automotive parts
● Safety footwear
● PPE equipment
● Household items (water buckets, plastic bags, mirrors)

Total items seized: 19,729

Estimated value: R1,406,514,00
